REBEL Labour MPs are pressing Gordon Brown to "harden his heart" and oust the Prime Minister.
They are telling the Chancellor that if he lacks the nerve to strike, he could lose support and miss the chance to take over at No 10.
A former Cabinet colleague said: "It is all up to Gordon. If he wills it to happen, the numbers are there to get rid of Blair. But he will have to harden his heart and stop waiting for the leadership to fall into his lap."
The pressure on the Chancellor came as Mr Blair called the Cabinet together in the wake of yesterday's shattering defeat on the anti-terror laws, in which 49 Labour MPs ...
