TOKYO, Nov 11 Asia Pulse - Consumer electronics start-up byd:sign Corp. on Friday will begin selling a 42-inch plasma television for less than 200,000 yen (US$1,700).

In late September, the company released a 42-inch plasma TV priced at 229,800 yen. Plasma display panel (PDP) prices have fallen 13 per cent since then, setting the stage for the lower-priced model, which uses a PDP from South Korea's Samsung SDI Co.
