Local California newspaper The Argus recently reported that San Francisco, CA-based environmental activist group Bluewater Network ran an advertisement in the New York Times last month condemning Toyota Motor Corporation as a "wolf in sheep's clothing" on environmental issues. The group also posted the ad on the Mother Jones website.
According to the newspaper, Bluewater Network faults the automaker for employing hybrid technology in the new Toyota Highlander and Lexus RX 400h in an effort to improve power and performance, rather than fuel economy.
