DETROIT - Mortgage brokers appear to be the latest group to try to latch on to the growth of the financial planning industry.
In August, the CMPS Institute in Ann Arbor, Mich., began offering what is believed to be the first educational program and certification designed specifically to help mortgage brokers think more like financial advisers.
Some advisers aren't impressed.
