WASHINGTON--A survey to determine public reaction to a health care reform proposal backed by the Coalition for Health Insurance Choices found that 86 percent of those surveyed supported the plan, with 49 percent strongly supporting it. Twelve percent opposed the plan.
"The survey indicates that consumers overwhelmingly want choice--choice of doctors, choice of hospitals and choice of insurance plans," noted Bill Gradison, president of the Washington-based Health Insurance Association of America, which sponsored the CHIC Coalition (see NU, April 26).
