It's tough to top a summertime floatfishing trip for smallmouth bass in the backcountry,
When its right, a smallmouth bass float in midsummer is the best kind of bassin' there is: You're moving, casting at bronze and green rockets whacking gaudy baubles in dear, shallow water, and the scenery is constantly changing. if, as I said, you catch it, because a successful smallie float often requires some precise planning.
