Brian Price Billington, the medical officer of the Nutrition Unit on the American-Australian Scientific Expedition to Arnhem Land, died in Sydney on 6 August 2004. Brian was born in Birkenhead, England, on 24 February 1923, the only child of Arthur and Lillian Billington. The family came to Australia in October 1935 and soon moved into 7 Amarna Parade, Roseville, Sydney, the home in which Brian lived for more than 50 years. He attended North Sydney Boys High School and then studied medicine at Sydney University before working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he met his wife, Mary.
