Aldo Palazzeschi's :Riflessi or, Writing as Erasure by Enrico Cesaretti
This article addresses the issue of self-effacement in the earliest novel by Aldo Palazzeschi. The epistolary nature of the novel is first emphasized and then read through the connection Jacques Derrida posits between identity and postal exchange in La Carte postale. Such a theoretical connection is then used as the basis for studying an 'ascetic' pattern of renunciation and consumption of the subject/protagonist in this text.
