Back in 1955, Dorcas Reilly combined a can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup and green beans in a dish, topped it with some canned fried onion rings and baked it.
Reilly, manager of the Campbell's Kitchen at the time, set out "to create a quick-and- easy recipe around things most Americans always had on hand in the 1950s: green beans and cream of mushroom soup."
