Nov. 15--Three of Missouri's most powerful politicians will be in the Branson area this weekend but not to see famed fiddle player Shoji Tabuchi.
Instead, Gov. Matt Blunt, Senate President Pro Tem Michael Gibbons and House Speaker Rod Jetton are scheduled to appear at a high-dollar fundraiser for the state Republican Party. The event will be held at the Big Cedar Lodge, located about 10 miles south of Branson.
Party spokesman John Hancock confirmed the cost to attend will be "within the range" of $25,000 and said it's a unique event for the GOP because most fundraisers are centered around a single lunch or dinner. He said the upcoming gathering ...
