Everyone seems to agree that Vine Deloria, the famed author of Custer Died For Your Sins, who passed away last weekend at 72, had a wicked sense of humor. It was on full display in 1998 when he wrote this newspaper complaining that he was "greatly offended by your reporter's inaccurate research . . . which said that the (University of Colorado) History Department had no Republicans. I am a registered Republican, have been for more than two decades, and supported Barry Goldwater in 1964."
Deloria happened to be wrong in asserting that the News overlooked him when charting the political affiliations of ...
