HICKORY, N.C. -- Corning Cable Systems, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, announced today that Capitol Infrastructure, LLC, a Capitol Broadband company, has chosen Corning's tip-to-tip passive optical solution for the company's fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments throughout the United States.

Capitol Infrastructure, which provides the fiber infrastructure and secures contracts from service providers for provisioning cable television, telephone, home security and wireless and wired Internet services, plans to deploy FTTH to more than 200,000 homes. That deployment would be one of the largest FTTH deployments in the U.S.
