Last spring, when the first boat built with a water jet by LeBlanc Brothers Boatbuilders in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, failed miserably to reach its expected speed, siblings Neil, Kevin and Leo LeBlanc stuck by their word. They Went back to the drawing board and built another one.
Massachusetts fisherman Jeffrey Valli, had commissioned the 35' x 12' x 18" boat with waterjet propulsion because he wanted a boat with minimal draft and high speed for fishing lobsters out of Nauset Inlet,
"Nauset Inlet is a tidal inlet so it drains out. So if I can get out two hours earlier and come home two hours later every day, it will add up at the end of the year," he says. ...
