HOW quickly we are returning to the days of serfdom, when we slaved half the week for greedy masters and had no privacy or liberty of our own.
And how little we seem to mind.
The plan to peer into our bedrooms to ensure we are paying enough council tax is one of those warnings any sensible society would heed - but we won't, because we all rely for salvation on the broken-winded, cowardly, idea-free Tory Party, which couldn't beat an egg, let alone New Labour.
