Nov. 20--Enrollment at the new civil engineering program at Florida State University-Panama City has more than tripled since the program began in 2003.
FSU-PC also is preparing a scholarship program for some of the future engineers and building a cutting-edge lab area in one of the new facilities on campus.
The program started with seven students and now has more than 30, said Adel ElSafty, one of the two professors in charge of the civil engineering department.
