Nov. 22--OSAKA -- Hanshin Electric Railway Co. said Tuesday it expects record earnings in the current fiscal year due in part to the favorable effects of its Hanshin Tigers professional baseball club clinching the 2005 Central League title.
But the Osaka-based railway operator will peg its dividend for the year at 5 yen per share as it intends to "continue stable dividends," Managing Director Shinya Sakai said.
Hanshin Electric expects a record 6 billion yen in group net profit for the year to next March 31, up 22.0 percent from the previous year, on a 5.3 percent rise in operating revenue to 315 billion yen, also an all-time high.
