When the season started in August, Buena Vista coach Bob Marken thought his collection of players had the opportunity to do something special.
Now, with only the state championship game remaining, the Demons can wrap up an undefeated season and win their first state football title since 1999.
Second-ranked Buena Vista (12-0) travels to Holy Family to take on the Tigers (9-3) at Mike G. Gabriel Stadium at 1 p.m. Saturday for the Class 2A state championship.
