BAPTIST HEALTH MEDICAL Center in Little Rock became the first Arkansas hospital to break the $1 billion mark for patient revenue.
But with "any willing provider" legislation finally going into effect, which opened four more Pulaski County hospitals to customers of the state's dominant insurance carrier, Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield, it remains to be seen whether Baptist Health will be able to maintain its place atop the largest hospitals and medical centers in Arkansas.
This year, Arkansas Business' annual list of the state's largest hospitals and medical centers is ranked by patient revenue rather than net income.
