THREE-TIME WORLD bantamweight champion Brent Velasco leads the Philippine campaign in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games muay thai competition which will start on Dec. 1 at the GSIS gym in Pasay City.
Velasco, who ruled the 51-54 kgs. division in the 2001, 2002 and 2004 World Muay Thai Championships, will be up against Thailandas national champion Mongkhon Punpiboon.
Another leading Filipino bet is four-time national champion Roland Claro, the reigning lightweight champion (45-48 kgs.), who is expected to dispute the title with Thailandas No. 1 Uchain Yingram.
