Life is accented with little nuggets of irony, absurdity and humor, which can easily be overlooked in our day-to-day lives. Sometimes we're blind to the clever juxtapositions created by serendipity, the humor or tragedy brought about by chance, or strange acts borrowed from the theater of the absurd.
These behaviors or events add texture to the fabric of our lives, sometimes for the better and at other times revealing pieces of who we are.
Photographer Toby Old is recognized for examining these oddities of life in several series of black and white images created over the past several decades.
