NEW YORK -- In its first home shopping show, NBC featured two ice cream makers from Williams-Sonoma, a Bloomingdale's sweatshirt, a few travel clothes from Nordstrom, dinosaur puppets, and not much more.
The show, which aired Friday, was called the Mall of America. It was taped at the mammoth Bloomington, Minn., mall in late May.
Mickey Mantle briefly reminisced about getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame with his Yankee teammate and friend, Whitey Ford. Then he took a swing at selling autographed baseballs, priced $119, and a poster-sized photo of him at the plate, priced $499. It was his Father's Day pitch.
