Hewlett-Packard reports that the market for color non-impact printers grew a whopping 235 percent last year, with HP kicking in 887,000 units of the total 1.2 million units shipped. This year, HP predicts that color inkjet printers will seize 76 percent of the combined home and office markets, and the company's latest inkjet printer is expected to lead the charge.
The new DeskJet 1200C is a $1,699 midrange office printer that offers good speed, laser-printer functionality, and low-cost, plain-paper output.
