A dense grey murk that catches the throat covers the vast street and the skyline. You would not even know that the great city of Lanzhou was surrounded by jagged mountains. They have entirely disappeared from sight.
You cannot see across the mighty Yellow River, in fact, you can barely see that there is a river there at all, and what there is of it is in fact brownish-grey.
