Nov. 29--Citing Norwalk's economic growth, the owner of a Stamford-based taxi company has applied to the state Department of Transportation for a license to serve the city.
The DOT has scheduled a public hearing for Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in the community room at Norwalk City Hall on a request from Eveready Transportation of Stamford to provide taxi service within the city, joining Norwalk Taxi and Norwalk Yellow Cab.
Eveready is making the application based on requests from its limousine customers, many of whom are associated with companies and hoteliers in Norwalk, said Vito Bochicchio Jr., president and chief executive officer ...
