Nov. 30--SHAWNEE -- Barbara Price-Hawes says she's seen dozens of old movies about "glamorous" people who live in hotels. Now she's one herself.
Price-Hawes was the first tenant to move into the newly renovated Aldridge Apartments that opened in October at Ninth and Bell streets, a block north of Main Street.
The nine-story brick building built in 1929 sat vacant for nearly two decades after falling into such disrepair that it was once condemned.
