EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- To provide the Russian community living in the United States with the best and most comprehensive Russian news and entertainment programming, DIRECTV will launch RussianDirect, a new 24-hour-a-day Russian-language programming package. Beginning today, RussianDirect will offer the leading channel in Russia, Channel One Russia Worldwide (C1RW), as well as exclusive programming shown for the first time in the United States from Dom Kino, Vremya, and Muzika Pervogo. DIRECTV will also launch RTR Planeta, another leading channel in Russia, on an a-la-carte basis beginning tomorrow.
