Robert Redford looked like a safe bet for stardom by 1967, when he co-starred with Jane Fonda in the movie version of Neil Simon's comedy "Barefoot in the Park." They were 29 at the time and remain one of the screen's cutest idealizations of a newlywed couple. The play had been Mr. Redford's first (and only) Broadway success four years earlier.
