MELBOURNE, Dec 2 Asia Pulse - Trans-Tasman brewer Lion Nathan Ltd (ASX:LNN) said today it was willing to have talks with takeover target Coopers Brewery Ltd ahead of a crucial meeting of Coopers shareholders next week.

Lion Nathan's offer comes as the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) prepares to decide ahead of two extraordinary general meetings (EGM) on Wednesday whether the A$420 million (US$312 million) bid addresses competition concerns.

"Given the fact that it looks like a decision may come down from the ACCC prior to any EGM, we'd be delighted to sit down with Coopers and discuss any remaining issues they may have around ...
