ELDERLY residents were today warned to be on their guard against a pair of conmen who are stealing cash from homes posing as water board officials.
In the last few days two elderly women have been targeted and thousands of pounds stolen by the duo, who wear blue overalls and claim they have called to check water pipes and radiators.
In the worst incident, on November 7 in Chelmsley Wood, a pensioner was robbed of her pounds 2,000 life-savings by the men who called at the 90-year-old woman's home claiming they were investigating a leak.
