I have twice read Mike Nevill's letter headlined, Clients need to see true value, but I still cannot identify any points of which everyone in the industry is not already well aware (Money Marketing, November 24).
The whole point of the FSA's menu is to make clients aware that commission-based advice is not free, that real monetary amounts are involved and that these form part of the costs of the product. This, in turn, is intended to make it clear that commission is met out of what the client pays into the product.
Commission does not come from some nebulous benevolent fund unrelated to whatever products may be effected via the IFA with various ...
