SIXTY-FIVE years ago, on the night of November 14, more than 500 German bombers took part in a deadly 11-hour raid over Coventry.
The attack started at 7.20pm and for hours the city burned as some 30,000 incendiaries, 500 tons of high explosives and 50 landmines were dropped by the Luftwaffe.
Three-quarters of the city's factories were destroyed, along with more than 45,000 homes, and the Blitz killed 554 men, women and children - and left 865 injured.
