A LARGE proportion of the country's best state schools are to be found in London, education watchdog Ofsted announced today.
The inspectorate's annual "school hall of fame" showed the capital has more top-rated schools than any other English region.
One in seven of the schools that gained the best Ofsted inspection reports this year were located in London.
And the capital is home to five of the elite 24 "best of the best" schools that have had excellent reports in all three inspection cycles over the past 12 years.
