Total replicated/duplicated units in the United States including optical discs, audiotape, videotape and computer diskettes are expected to reach a projected 2.6 billion units according to estimates prepared by Tape/Disc Business.
The CD-ROM market (which includes interactive CD products such as CD-I, CDTV, VIS, etc., as well as text and graphics based titles), a difficult market to track, is quoted by several sources as growing at levels up to 150% annually. CD-ROM, which accounted for an estimated 10 million units in 1992, is expected to grow by 120% in 1993 to reach 22 million units.
