"It's a big old goofy world," John Prine sang on his 1991 Grammy-award winning album The Missing Years. Sometime back in the early '90s I found out just what Prine meant, first-hand, when I opened a show for him at a movie theater in Milwaukee. After the show, we went over to the Hilton where he was staying.
