Attacking the Los Angeles City Council's strict new overseas travel policy as "election year fodder," Los Angeles port officials said their ability to jet around the world to check in on clients and promote the port has been seriously threatened.
"If we need to make quick trips to save an account, I don't know how we can do it under this new policy," groused Albert Fierstine, director of marketing for Worldport L.A. "Sometimes I come in and am told, 'You are on your way to Taipei or Korea.'"
