Preston County, W. Va., teams up with state for roadside-dump cleanup.

Dec. 13--KINGWOOD -- One of the most common complaints Preston County commissioners receive is about roadside trash and dumps, and they may have a response.

Commission President Darwin Wolfe said he started his "trash complaints" file in 1997 and hasn't been able to close it since. When Commissioner Dave Price was elected two years ago, he suggested a trash ordinance, which withered under public criticism and never went on the law books.

But last week, Wolfe and Price toured the county -- from the county line at Corinth, in eastern Preston County, to southern Preston County -- with three state officials they hope will help clean up Preston ...
