Sony Ericsson buys stake in Chinese production venture from Sony

Shanghai. December 14. INTERFAX-CHINA - Handset maker Sony Ericsson received approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) to increase its stake in Beijing Suohong Electronics Co. Ltd. (BSE) from 10% to a controlling 74.5%, Sony Ericsson said Tuesday.

The BSE acquisition is expected to strengthen Sony Ericsson's supply chain and increase manufacturing capabilities.
