Dec. 14--News flash from the North Pole: Office merriment is expected to increase this holiday season.
Based on the percentage of companies planning to sponsor holiday parties, this could be the best year for such festivities since 2002, according to the Bureau of National Affairs Inc., a Washington, D.C., research group.
But local lawyers, adding a sobering note, advise companies to couple their party planning with strategies for heading off the kind of merrymaking that could land an employer in court.
