Dec. 14--UNITY -- The small, sun-filled office tucked in the MacConnell wing of the Sullivan County Nursing Home is a little out of the way for Dori Barratt's tastes but she's not complaining. She's back where she wants to be.
After a five-year absence, Barratt, 55, is once again the home's nurse practitioner. She started Nov. 28.
As one of only about eight nurse practitioners in New Hampshire, Barratt serves as an on-site go-between for patients and physicians. If a facility does not have a nurse practitioner, it relies on nurses to assess patients and make recommendations to physicians.
