Dec. 15--Over strong protests by neighbors, owners of the historic Corey House mansion in the Las Palmas subdivision won permission Wednesday to use the home's lush grounds for weddings and other outdoor events.
Monterey County planning commissioners, after imposing stringent noise-monitoring requirements, voted 8-2 to approve the sharply contested permit sought by Corey House owners Linda and Samuel Persall.
