Brown Printing Company's Franklin Division in Kentucky, though scarcely 13 years old, has already made a big name for itself Despite a flat economy, it is increasing its market share in gravure printing.
Last year, shipments from the ultra-modern 400,000-sq-ft facility grossed $70 million on a mix of 70% inserts, 20% magazines, and 10% catalogs. It produced 1.1 billion impressions and routed some 400 million books through its bindery.
Franklin owns four of the nation's most modern gravure presses, all supplied by Albert-Frankenthal of Germany:
