Dec. 18--Susan Bzdell always wanted to talk about Decatur's history, especially about the Union Army's occupation during the Civil War.
She always encouraged historians to take a closer look at Simp McGhee and Miss Kate Lackner."There's more to them than meets the eye," Mrs. Bzdell said about three weeks ago.The Limestone County native, who never ran out of history stories to share when you visited the Morgan County Archives on Bank Street, died Saturday at about 5 a.m. at Decatur General Hospital.
