Given the fact that flights from the UK to African destinations are relatively expensive, especially during peak seasons, the announcement of a new airline offering inexpensive flights to West Africa was very welcome.
It became even more interesting when we learnt that the airline was owned by a group of UK based Africans who had seen a gap in the market and found ways of filling it.
I was invited by Arkh-View African Airline to join a group of journalists, tour operators and travel agents on the airline's maiden flight for a one-day trip to Douala, in Cameroon. A one day shunt to Cameroon seemed to be bordering on the extreme but, as they say, when ...
