I just surfaced next to the boat after a 45-minute dive off the coast of Honduras. This is the southern end of the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, Australia being number one. My wife and 2 other diving companions surfaced right next to me. One, who I will call Jack, looked very confused. I asked, "Jack, are you okay?" He said, "I don't know. I don't know what to do. I can't feel my legs". My first reaction as an experienced medical professional was, "Oh shit".
