In speaking about the prospects for his country's economy, the governor of Bangladesh's central bank was quoted in The Bangladesh Journal (Dhaka) on November 9, 2005 this way: "The macroeconomic fundamentals are not bad at this stage . . . " The Journal characterized the overall thrust of the governor's presentation as "optimistic".
