CHICAGO, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The first item auctioned off from the first Chicago baseball World Series Championship in 88 years was purchased on December 18, 2005 by Grant DePorter, Managing Partner of Harry Caray's Restaurant. The bat was used by Houston's Orlando Palmeiro in the last out of the game giving the White Sox their first championship title since 1917. Originally estimated to sell between $75,000 to $150,000, the "last out bat" was purchased for $18,400.
