SEOUL, Dec 21 Asia Pulse - South Korea plans to float 20-year state bonds from next year as part of its efforts to ease its fiscal burden and meet various needs from investors, the country's Finance Ministry said Wednesday.

The introduction of long-dated debts and so-called strip bonds, whose corpus and coupons can be traded separately, will help breathe new life into the country's state debt market, the ministry said.

The proportion of the 20-year and fixed-rate Treasuries will be around 10 per cent of next year's planned sale of 66.4 trillion won (US$65.1 billion) in Treasuries.
