Halodrol-50 contains anabolic steroids, according to Don Catlin of the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory, who analyzed the dietary supplement for The Washington Post newspaper. Both Oral-Turinabol, the main steroid used in East Germany's sports doping program in the 1960s and 1970s, and DMT, or madol, were found in the product. DMT was developed as an undetectable performance-enhancing drug, the paper noted.
