All-terrain vehicle riders pour more than $20 million a year into the economy of the four counties of the Tug Hill Region, according to a recently completed draft study.
The study, commissioned by the Cooperative Tug Hill Council, found that Oswego, Oneida, Jefferson and Lewis counties collect more than $1million a year in sales and occupancy taxes from people using ATVs.
The information for the study was compiled by interviewing riders at popular stops, meeting with focus groups and mail surveys of business owners. The study sought to measure the effect of ATV riding on the region's economy and on ...
