Dec. 22--PHUKET -- Most luxury hotels in Phuket have fared relatively well in the aftermath of the Dec 26 tsunami but their counterparts in Phangnga are still struggling.
Reacting swiftly to address the huge psychological impact of the killer wave with intensive marketing efforts, the resort island's high-end resort operators such as Aman (previously known as Amanpuri) and Laguna Resorts & Hotels Plc have seen occupancy rates picking up at a faster pace than originally envisaged.
